I went to 5 out of 10 events I featured in May’s monthly. And guess what… I almost talked myself out of 2 of them.
I just had that feeling: I don’t want to go. Why? Honestly, I’m not sure. Maybe because I felt out of my element. Maybe because I wasn’t sure if I’d know anyone there. The introvert in me was loud those days.
But eventually, Jason looked at me and said: "Wait… aren’t you the one encouraging everyone else to go to these things, even when it’s hard?"
Fair point, handsome.
And you know what? I went. I was so glad I did.
I ended up connecting with someone I really admire, bumped into a familiar face I hadn’t seen in a while, and had one of those conversations that reminds me why I do this work in the first place.
Sooo - how’d you do?
We all have those days. Gigs come up. Life happens. Burnout is real. But when you can go, I hope you do. Because every time we show up, we’re opening the door to something. Community, opportunity, maybe even friendship.
And now I’m adding some new mini-quests for June:
• As always, find me.
• Snap a selfie or photo at an event you attend. (with me, without me)
• Post it in the Facebook group, or on instagram.
• Tag @tarascallsheet. (Don’t do the social media thing often? Personally send it to me.)
• Collect one of my stickers. (I’ll have some new ones this month!)
I would love to hear some cool connections you make! Let’s keep showing up... together.
